Job summary

UK Security Vetting have an exciting opportunity for a Workforce Data Analyst to join our team. This post is a key role in the transformation and modernisation of our workforce business intelligence function which will work with varied projects in a fast moving and diverse environment. 

As a Workforce Analyst you will support the Workforce Data Manager in providing a customer focussed, proactive and effective workforce information reporting and analysis service which will contribute to the development of a strategic workforce plan.

Job description

  • Provide in-depth analysis of workforce information identifying trends and hotspots 
  • Collect and interpret data relevant to recruitment, training and reward and recognition practices
  • Summarise and present data and conclusions in the most appropriate format for users 
  • Implement quality control systems, processes and schedule of improvements to ensure that all digital and reporting functions are fit for purpose
  • Ensure data that is held remains accurate by implementing and overseeing a quality control system 
  • Provide a point of contact for colleagues maintaining excellent customer service 
  • Work with central data insights team to ensure alignment with wider UKSV reporting

Person specification

As  a Workforce Data Analyst within UK Security Vetting, we are looking for people who have the following expertise and attributes:

Essential Criteria 

  • Knowledge and skills in management information package, datasets and spreadsheets 
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Google sheets 
  • Experience of data analysis
  • Understanding of data protection issues
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills 

Desirable Criteria 

  • Working knowledge of Business Intelligence Dashboards

This vacancy is using Success Profiles (opens in a new window), and will assess your Behaviours, Experience and Technical skills.

Application process

You will be asked to provide a 250-word statement on the Behaviours Managing a Quality Service and Delivering at Pace.

To assess experience you will be asked to provide a 500-word personal statement and a name-blind anonymous CV. 

Should a large number of applications be received, an initial sift may be undertaken using the lead Behaviour Managing a Quality Service and the personal statement. Candidates who pass the initial sift may be progressed to a full sift, or progressed straight to assessment/interview.

Selection process

At interview, you will be assessed on the Behaviours, Experience and Technical elements of the Success Profiles. 

The Behaviours being assessed are Managing a Quality Service and Delivering at Pace.

To assess experience you will be asked to provide a 500-word personal statement and a name-blind anonymous CV. 

To assess Technical skills, you will be required to complete a technical assessment exercise and more details will be provided prior to interview to candidates who are successful at the sift stage.
