DWP is looking to fill a Wellbeing Contract Manager role in the People and Capability GroupThe role available will usually be based in one of the following hub locations: Blackpool (Peel Park), Leeds (Quarry House), Newcastle (Benton Park View), Sheffield (Kings Court), Cardiff, Treforest (Ty Taf). For jobs located in Wales, the ability to speak Welsh is desirable

Working in the DWP Wellbeing Team will provide a rewarding and stretching opportunity.

This is an exciting, and at times, fast paced high profile role, providing critical timely support to the Senior Wellbeing Contracts Manager and Head of Wellbeing in managing the DWP Occupational Health and Employee Assistance Contracts and the Eye Care Contract and progressing the Wellbeing priorities within DWP as part of the DWP Health and Wellbeing Centre of Expertise team.

There is much variety to the role and a typical day may range from providing expert advice, guidance and support in addition to delivering specific Contract Management responsibilities and working with colleagues in the wider wellbeing team and our key stakeholders/partners to deliver effective Wellbeing interventions and support. The role will also have budget monitoring responsibilities.

The role also provides an exciting opportunity to engage with external partners and organisations.

Job description

Successful candidates can expect to be involved in a range of the following:

  • Providing critical timely support to the Senior Wellbeing Contract Manager to manage the DWP Wellbeing Contracts including the DWP Occupational Health/Employee Assistant Programme – a high value/high volume contract, Eyecare and Ill Health Retirement contracts which provide essential support to the Department’s mental health, wellbeing, workplace adjustments and attendance management policies and procedures.
  • Supporting the regular contract management review meetings with suppliers, analysing and interpreting management information/data, highlighting and escalating issues and risks to service delivery.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance and working with colleagues in the wider wellbeing team and our key stakeholders/partners to deliver effective Wellbeing interventions and support.
  • Supporting the accurate budget management for the contracts, monitoring spend, reporting and working collaboratively with Commercial and Finance colleagues.

Person specification

Key Criteria

  • HR-related contract management experience and knowledge in managing large contracts with the ability to use your contract management skills to help deliver strategic people interventions and objectives. The ability to work with changing priorities and tight deadlines to prioritise and work quickly to provide accurate expert advice and guidance, using your own initiative. (Lead Criteria)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to confidently engage with a range of stakeholders within DWP and with external partners and organisations, flexing your style according to the audience to effectively engage with and influence stakeholders.
  • Good budget management and monitoring experience with the ability to interpret finance data and work collaboratively with the Senior Contracts Manager, Finance Business Partners and commercial colleagues to identify and manage any financial issues and risks.
  • An ability to analyse and interpret data and insight to inform planning and recommendations to shape and evaluate the success of data driven, evidence based wellbeing projects and interventions.

Location

Hybrid Working

This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home.  This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.

Written Sift

The written sift will be conducted using evidence from your Personal Statement and will be assessed against the Key Criteria detailed within the advert.​

In the event of a large number of applications we will use the Lead Criteria to initially assess your application during the Sift stage. Candidates who pass the initial Sift may be progressed to a full Sift or direct to interview. 

Interview

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a Blended Video Interview which is an online interview via MS Teams. Candidates will be assessed on Behaviours and Strengths.
