UK Security Vetting have a new and exciting opportunity for an experienced Talent Lead to join our team and play a crucial role in attracting and retaining exceptional employees. You will be responsible for continuously attracting top talent, developing a compelling attractive employment brand, and fostering positive relationships internal and external stakeholders .

As a Talent Lead you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering a range of priority projects designed to identify, attract and retain talented individuals who can contribute to the growth and success of the organisation.

Job description

Duties will include but not limited to 

  • Identifying the organisational needs and work to create and implement a first-class talent acquisition strategy to improve recruitment and business performance.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to attract diverse candidates to all areas of the business promoting the organisation as a Disability Confident Leader Employer and its place on the Social Mobility Employer Index.
  • Leading cohorts on the award-winning Civil Service Fast Stream. Managing the bidding process and building a rewarding scheme experience for the cohort participants and the managers. 
  • Lead on integrating apprenticeships into the department skills and capability plans and our people strategies. 
  • Establish and grow relationships across wider Government departments and with external stakeholders in the wider arena to include universities, schools and early careers contacts.
  • Understand current recruitment trends within the organisation to identify impacts these may have on the department aims and objectives.
  • Anticipate the organisations future needs to advise on recruiting strategies. 
  • Develop and implement an employee retention programme.
  • Devise and grow effective strategies for identifying skills gaps in the organisation. 
  • Interpret data to manage and deliver quality insightful reports.

Person specification

As Talent Lead within UK Security Vetting, we are looking for people who have the following expertise and attributes:

 Essential Criteria 

  • Successful record in developing, delivering and managing a range of high quality and effective talent related or early careers programmes.
  • Experience of performance and leadership development along with life-long learning. 
  • Communicating with impact with the ability to influence and consult with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Successfully developed campaigns to increase employer branding. 
  • Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and databases.
  • Leadership experience within a multi-disciplinary recruitment team. 
  • Strong organisational skills able to balance priorities whilst meeting personal and department targets managing own workload within demanding timescales and fast-moving environments.
  • Experience of the principles of project management applied to varied and complex projects.
  • Confident with using key metrics and analytical tools. 
  • Working with work planning systems. 

 Desirable

  • CIPD membership  or willingness to work towards this.

Selection process details

Selection Process
