Job summary

Looking for a new challenge where you will have the opportunity to shape both your role and our newly formed service management team as it evolves?

The role of the Supplier and Partner Management Lead sits within the newly created Corporate Hub team which will evolve into the future delivery platform for many of the corporate services provided to core SG and other public bodies.

The Hub is part of DG Corporate which provides a range of services to core SG directorates, public bodies, inquiries and review bodies.  The Hub is key to developing stronger, clearer, improved service offers and clarifying and improving mutual understanding and engagement between DG Corporate and its range of customer organisations.

The primary aim of this role will be to lead on managing the contract for the new Oracle Cloud platform and will see you engaging with suppliers to ensure the platform is meeting our needs and raising issues as required.  You will collaborate and engage with colleagues across DG Corporate and beyond to understand the supplier management landscape and the issues involved in dealing with strategic suppliers such as large technology companies and strategic consulting partners.  Over time, the role will expand to include developing a framework for the management of DG Corporate's Strategic Suppliers.

Job description

  • The ongoing management of the suppliers including the preparation of a systematic review timetable and the execution of regular review meetings.

  • Manage service claims or other compensatory issues as appropriate.
  • Be an escalation point for contractual issues.
  • Embed a culture of continuous improvement to underpin the future development of the supplier management framework.
  • Contribute to the conversation of what good customer service looks like (in partnership with Directorates), for specific DG Corporate services, initially focusing on HR & Finance services.
  • Contribute to the engagement with DG Corporate customers, taking feedback, gathering insights and drawing out analytics. This needs to dovetail with other surveys, studies or commissions so that we build an integrated picture.
  • Contribute to the development of the shared services catalogue, how each service is consumed, by which organisation, why etc. Initial focus on HR and Finance customers impacted by change from e-HR / SEAS migration to Oracle. Responsibilities will rapidly expand to cover services offered by DG Corporate.
  • Contribute to Horizon scanning and intelligence gathering to identify changes in demand and in customer service requirements and engaging with colleagues across DG Corporate so that they can take action to respond to those demands.
  • Contribute to the review, updating and maintaining the Memorandums of Understanding and/or Data Sharing Agreements that SG has with some Delivery Bodies with special reference to the impact of the charging model on them.

Person specification

  1. Previous experience in supplier management ( a focus on large technology companies e.g., Oracle, IBM, Microsoft and strategic consulting partners e.g. Sopra Steria, Deloitte etc. would be beneficial, but not essential).
  2. A successful track record of taking the initiative to deliver improvements to the efficacy of your team and the services provided.
  3. Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers at a range of seniority levels, building trust and credibility and making connections across boundaries.
  4. Experience in analysing and understanding complex information quickly and use information and insights to identify options and make recommendations.
