Job description

The role sits in the Storage and Logistics area within the Commercial Directorate. You will support the Stores Team Managers and Team Leaders to assist in providing the day-to-day service for our Internal stakeholders. In this diverse and varied role, you will perform a range of tasks such as monitoring and managing stock, checking operating, mechanical equipment and providing logistic support including delivery and forklift driving duties.

You will need to be adaptable to support your team and others and display resilience when managing a fast-paced workload.

The work that you will be involved in can be physically demanding, so we do require a good level of fitness from you.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Adhering to guidance and direction from Stores Team Leaders. Supporting as required, all Storage and warehouse activities
  • Providing assistance to Stores Team Leader in their duties as required
  • Assisting with providing and maintaining an efficient and effective customer service to customers and stakeholders
  • Checking and operating all mechanical handling equipment, machinery and other work equipment provided by the DVLA to facilitate the role complying with Health & Safety requirements
  • Reporting and recording all accidents, incidents, near misses, damage or faults to any vehicle or equipment and advise the Manager’s office (Inc. traffic offences)

Additional information 

Please note that you will be required to undertake relevant training to obtain a fork-lift driving licence.

This role will require you to work on-site at one of our designated offices. There is a requirement for you to work across DVLA Main Site in Morriston, DVLA Swansea Vale and Ty-Felin.

Selection process details

This vacancy is using Success Profiles (opens in a new window), and will assess your Behaviours, Strengths and Experience.
