About the job

Job summary

This stores operative positing is within a flying squadron in the Ministry of Defence (MOD). This dynamic position is critical to in the safe maintenance and operation of aircraft underpinning defence output.

The daily management of this store will involve a wide range of activities from correctly accounting and controlling the transaction of contents through to scheduling maintenance requirements and undertaking continuous improvement.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. 

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working.  This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. Job description

In this dynamic and stimulating role the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a squadron store in line with local policies and procedures. Ensure all tool control processes are upheld in order to account for tool and test equipment. Ensuring all tool kits are inducted correctly by registering, labelling, and maintaining items. Removing broken tools from service, updating deficiency paperwork completing associated reports. Ordering replacement tools. Monitor and prompt outstanding tooling demands. Liaise with stakeholders across the organisation to arrange calibration of test equipment. Update local databases and information management systems with quantities and serviceability status of tool stocks.  Using information management systems to forecast maintenance requirements. Maintain training records for tool store staff.
