Job description

The Systems Manager will work alongside the Systems Accountant in the delivery of financial system responsibilities, playing a key role in the work of the Systems Accounting function, particularly in the areas of system developments and the finance system renewal project.

Some of the responsibilities for this role include:

  • An understanding of the value-adding role of Finance within the public sector, and a genuine commitment to integrating Finance as an enabling function within the business’s decision-making. 
  • Build and maintain key relationships, in particular developing trust and rapport. This includes managing the expectations of senior managers and stakeholders. 
  • Support the Systems Accountant in delivery of financial system responsibilities

Person specification

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • Experience of developing, maintaining, or supporting an ERP/Finance system, with excellent knowledge and understanding of financial and logistics processes.

    It is recommended that the applicant holds a level 4 finance qualification (AAT, CCAB or equivalent).

  • Experience of stakeholder/relationship management, with the ability to engage with staff from different levels of the organisation with varying understanding of finance systems, fostering good communication and maintaining effective working relationships, whilst upholding the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion.

  • Excellent ability to analyse proposed system changes from the perspective of benefits, impact, and risk, with the confidence to challenge or champion where appropriate.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to effectively plan and prioritise your work and the work of others and deliver to agreed deadlines.
