This is a rare chance to shape the future delivery of often complex and interesting sites in the North of England in a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose.

MPP is a multidisciplinary team with a remit to identify, lead on, and provide support to, large-scale, complex and innovative projects that require multiple interventions, cross-government and cross¬ discipline working. The team will work closely with Homes England colleagues and other Government Departments to provide a bridge between policy, strategy and delivery. By forming a clear understanding of the strategic context and priorities surrounding a particular project at the pre¬ development stage; and by drawing on expertise and relationships, the team will develop robust, large-scale housing strategies that will drive market change and unlock delivery.

Based in our Liverpool office you will have the chance to be involved in, and shape, projects that achieve transformative Urban Regeneration and housing growth throughout the North of England such as the Catalyst sites in Sheffield; Forth Yards in Newcastle and Wirral Waters.

You’ll act as part of the ‘front door’ to Homes England for our partners, working with Combined Authorities, Local Authorities and private sector partners to build pipelines of investment ready housing growth and regeneration projects. In certain Combined Authorities, such as Greater Manchester, West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire, you’ll be part of our Strategic Place Partnerships with those places, where we have focussed working together around key priorities for those places.

Person specification

A bit about you…

You will lead a number of your own projects and use your technical and commercial expertise to provide strategic and expert advice in the field across a range of property related issues including large-scale infrastructure and development, delivery strategies, land assembly, delivery models and funding mechanisms. Familiarity with the business case process and experience in engaging with government departments on major strategic projects will also be valued.

The role requires you to work on projects across the north of England within multi-functional teams and an ability to work collaboratively with others is key to success in this role.

Whilst our day job is to deliver first class customer service to our stakeholders, you will be used to ‘spinning several plates’ at once and work at pace through a range of different tasks and priorities to deliver on competing responsibilities whilst looking for ways to improve and innovate.

You’ll will be educated to a degree level, desirably with a recognised professional qualification, for example RTPI/RICS and/or have project management experience or experience in engineering, urban regeneration or in finance and have the skills and ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. You will possess expert real estate, commercial and development knowledge.

Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy.

You will be resilient and comfortable managing multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.
