Job description

The role of the DVLA’s Senior Resourcing Lead means being the ‘Expert customer’ for DVLA in their interactions with the Departmental Resourcing Group (DRG) and the Government Recruitment Service (GRS) and in relation to policy that have resourcing impacts.

This role involves managing the overall resourcing picture and lead on key elements of its implementation in DVLA; primarily the management of the relationship with DRG and by association GRS and to represent DVLA at a group wide level on issues relating to recruitment and resourcing (policy and processes).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working to establish an effective customer relationship that allows us to work collaboratively to optimise the relationship with DRG and GRS.
  • Represent DVLA at the DfT Group-Wide resourcing forum. Representing the Department and have the authority to make decisions relating to the resourcing issues raised on behalf of the DVLA, always focusing on bringing about continuous improvement.
  • Act as an SME, understand the services that both DRG and GRS can offer in relation to recruitment campaigns and review key campaigns to ensure the quality of assessment is maintained and in-line with the Civil Service Recruitment Principles.
  • Conduct regular analysis of recruitment data and bring about continuous improvements as a result.
  • Upskill HR BCs and recruitment support teams, ensuring consistency in recruitment matters across the Agency.

  • Expected to have a good working knowledge of recruitment technology platforms (including Applicant Tracking Systems).  
  • Able to visualise the future needs of the organisation and bring people along with you on the journey.
  • An organised planner and can create approaches to gain buy in to change and influence key stakeholders to embrace new ways of working.

Additional information

This role will be based in Swansea, and we will be operating a hybrid working model that allows you to work between home and on-site giving you greater flexibility about where and when you work, subject to business needs and this also allows for ongoing support, development, and collaboration with colleagues.  

Therefore, the expectation is that you will spend a minimum of 60% of your working time based at your principal workplace (DVLA). We would encourage you to discuss the working arrangements for this role with us during the recruitment process.
