If this sounds like an environment you would like to work in, we would love to hear from you.

The Research, Capacity and Growth Branch sits within the Science Research and Evidence Directorate (SRE) in DHSC and provides leadership and policy development for initiatives that support research in England via the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).

The Research, Capacity and Growth Branch oversees funding for NIHR research infrastructure and faculty, creating a sustainable research workforce which can facilitate, deliver and lead research. NIHR infrastructure funding supports centres of excellence in England to deliver groundbreaking research across many different disease areas including dementia, cancer, mental health, cardiovascular disease and more. The underpinning support function of the NIHR infrastructure creates an environment where health and care research can thrive. We also ensure that health, care and research staff of all backgrounds are offered rewarding, challenging and exciting careers.
