Job description

The role

The Senior Product Manager sits within the Cabinet Office Digital Product function. They will be responsible for multiple products and services or a single product that is especially complex, high risk or sensitive. The product/s and service/s can vary from Internal facing for enabling colleagues to do their job effectively to external ones for the wider government and the public.

As Senior Product Manager you will be working with stakeholders to understand the problems they are trying to solve and using a user-centred approach delivering outcomes advocating best practices and, at all times, championing the user. You should be comfortable with roadmaps, developing SMART metrics and KPIs for your products, setting vision and goals for the team.

Person specification

Essential Criteria

This role manages multiple products or a single product that is especially complex, high risk or sensitive. At this role level, you will:

● line manage associate product managers and product managers
● have expert product management skills
● potentially be involved in elements of programme management activity
● be involved in hiring associates, product managers and contractors
● With your strong communication skills, you will be confident in supporting and advising your stakeholders as well as coaching and challenging your product teams.
● Be great at adapting to changing circumstances and environments. You see it as an opportunity to improve or review existing products and services, always taking a holistic view to better the user experience.

A minimum 60% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace. Although requirements to attend other locations for official business will also count towards this level of attendance.
