The Role

We’re recruiting for Senior Product Lead for Power Platform here at Justice Digital, to be part of our warm and collaborative End User Compute Services (EUCS) team.

The EUCS team is part of Technology Services in Justice Digital, a modern and diverse workplace that promotes a healthy work-life balance and flexible working options.  They design, deliver and support the core infrastructure and systems that enable End User Compute Services and line of business applications for over 100,000 Ministry of Justice users across over 800 locations. 

This role aligns with Senior Product Manager from the Government Digital and Data Framework

Senior Product Leads manage multiple, complex and high-risk products, championing their delivery and continuous improvement, defining, owning and solving problems. They use their technical understanding, as well as knowledge of user needs and business goals to frame problems and set priorities. They are responsible for developing the overall vision for the product engaging their teams and stakeholders in the development of that vision over time and managing a product through its life cycle.  They may line manage other staff and support their professional development as well as be involved in recruitment.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a multi-disciplined team, coaching and instilling Agile and Lead practices, setting performance targets and ensuring KPIs are consistently achieved.
  • Manage the development and delivery of multiple product strategies and roadmaps for complex and often high-risk product areas, acting as an SME with a deep technical understanding.
  • Integrate multiple products and services, prioritising future requirements to create modern and efficient, enterprise-level EUC solutions and services that deliver value for money and enable the Ministry of Justice to meet its operational objectives across the UK.
  • Deliver high-quality results and decisions, within tight timescales whilst working under pressure and dealing with ambiguity.
  • Develop and have a deep understanding of the product life cycle, keeping abreast of industry and technical advancements and best practices.
  • Develop and deliver continuous service improvements and work as part of a multi-functional team to create, refine and prioritise a product backlog of changes and enhancements.
  • Discuss requirements with technical and non-technical audiences and champion the effective use of products to maximise investment.
  • Own, maintain and publish all product documentation to good quality and standard, including business requirements and user stories.
  • Building and managing effective relationships with stakeholders and third-party suppliers and sharing specialist knowledge to support the adoption of the service.
  • Review operational ways of working and keep up-to-date progress records on activities.
  • Working with internal teams and suppliers to identify resolutions to incidents and problem tickets and utilise this data to improve the product.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the most modern standards and practices, sharing with the wider team and Justice Digital community.
  • Work with delivery manager(s) within the team to manage priorities for demand requests.
  • Work with other Product leads to provide a seamless delivery when business requirements specify multiple products.
  • Work collaboratively with other areas of EUCS and Justice Digital.

The Senior Product Lead will work collaboratively with: 

  • All Service Owners
  • Technical Architecture, Engineering and Service Operations teams
  • Product Leads and Associate Product Leads
  • 3rd party Service Managers, Project and Technical leads
  • Senior Operations Managers within the EUC team
  • Security and data protection teams
  • Key MOJ stakeholders

 Person Specification

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent workplace experience.
  • Significant experience in product management or related roles, with a focus on enterprise software solutions and platforms.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading the development and launch of complex software products, preferably in the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem.
  • Strong understanding of Power Platform components, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Virtual Agents.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a customer-centric mindset, capable of translating business requirements into actionable product plans and roadmaps.
  • Experience with agile methodologies, product lifecycle management, and product management tools such as JIRA and Azure DevOps.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Power Platform App Maker or Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Functional Consultant or equivalent workplace experience.
