We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced 2nd or 3rd line support analyst to join the JNCCs IT Operations and Cyber Security team. As a Senior Support Analyst within the IT Operations and Cyber Security Team, you'll be a key player in protecting our on-premises and cloud-based systems and ensuring seamless IT services for JNCC staff. Working collaboratively with experienced colleagues, you'll provide second and third-line support on the JNCC helpdesk, tackling complex technical issues and delivering solutions that keep our organization running smoothly. You further get the opportunity to work along and collaborate with both our Data Protection manager and Information management specialist to further enhance our internal systems to ensure legislative compatibility.

The role is hybrid; however, you will be expected to be in the Peterborough office for 2 days a week.

Job description

Post Duties 

On-premises Systems Support:   

  • Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including, switches, and firewalls. 
  • Ensure secure access through VPN technology for remote users. 
  • Utilise centralized software deployment tools to efficiently update applications across the organization. 
  • Deploy automated builds of laptops for new users, ensuring configuration consistency. 
  • Manage network servers and critical services like DNS, DHCP, and virtual desktops powered by Hyper-V. 
  • Oversee backup systems based on Veeam and manage storage devices. 
  • Regularly work along with the Cyber Security Officer to manage patching of critical systems in order to maintain a secured safe environment. 

 Office 365 and MS Azure environment 

  • Managing, configuring, and supporting JNCCs Office 365 environment 
  • Administer the Endpoint manager mobile device management system. 
  • Provide technical support for JNCC's corporate Apple phones. 

MS Azure 

  • Enhancing, managing, and configuring JNCCs growing MS Azure environment 

 Other Responsibilities: 

  • Respond promptly and effectively to helpdesk tickets, resolving technical issues and providing user support. 
  • Document solutions and maintain accurate knowledge base records. 
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge, escalate complex issues, and contribute to team projects. 
  • Stay up to date with evolving technologies and IT best practices. 
  • Participate in continuous learning and training opportunities. 
  • Undertake research projects to ensure that JNCCs technical infrastructure meets the needs of JNCC’s new strategy and user requirements.
