Salary:  National: £54358 - £69150 (which may include an allowance of up to £14792) London: £58847 - £73875 (which may include an allowance of up to £15028)

Please note, you will be required to take part in an on-call rota, sharing the responsibility of providing out of hours engineering cover for major incidents for which an additional allowance is payable.

The Role 

We’re recruiting for Senior Cloud Ops Engineers here at  Justice Digital, to be part of our warm and collaborative MoJ End User Compute (EUC) Core Infrastructure Team. 

This role aligns against G7 Senior Infrastructure Engineer from the Government Digital and Data Framework.

You will be responsible for infrastructure primarily in Azure, in our own datacentres, and spanning them both. These are exciting times at Justice Digital. Key Responsibilities: 

As a Senior Cloud Ops Engineer in EUCS, you will;

  • Develop and administer CI/CD pipelines in Azure Devops.
  • Design, build, and maintain our core EUC infrastructure including computing, storage, physical infrastructure, virtualised instances and cloud computing. 
  • Work with and support third party suppliers in providing infrastructure services.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to optimise performance, reliability, and security.
  • Share knowledge of tools and techniques with the wider team and community, communicating technical concepts effectively at levels appropriate to different audiences.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Technical Architects to set product direction and provide input into technology roadmaps.

We are looking for enthusiastic Professionals with solid fundamental IT knowledge, who have a passion for modern ways of working learning, take joy in learning new technologies, but equally up to the challenge of untangling legacy solutions along the way.

Person Specification

Essential: 

  • Experience with enterprise scale Infrastructure and Management, Data, Storage, Virtual Machines and backup.
  • Experience of scripting and automation with a "code first" approach. Utilising for example PowerShell, Terraform, Azure CLI, Azure DevOps, Github.
  • Strong troubleshooting skillset, capable over multiple technologies and able to break a problem down into component parts.
  • Comfortable working in a mixed skillset team in an agile, fast-paced, working environment.
  • Open to learning new technologies, new ways of working and new processes whilst maintaining high standards of technical expertise.
  • Experience with Cloud First, Infrastructure as Code and DevOps culture.
