Job description

As a Senior HR Analyst, you will support the full range of pay and reward activity.

You will have a particular focus on data modelling and translating your findings into management information that can then be used to enable the effective delivery of the annual pay cycle and the development of the CMA reward strategy.

You will develop and deliver complex pay and reward activities by:

  • Leading on the preparation and submission of the annual gender and ethnicity pay gap reports
  • Creating and checking pay data models relating to the annual pay settlement for all CMA employees
  • Supporting the accurate and timely implementation and communication of pay awards through data checking
  • Supporting the HR Business Partnering team on the performance management process for Senior Civil Servants by providing data analysis to support discussions at senior level
  • Acting as the main point of contact for internal and external pay-related data requests and leading on the completion of these

You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders including internal CMA customers, external experts and other parts of the HR directorate.

Person specification

  • Experience of preparing proposals, models, business cases or reports resulting from numerical analysis to draw evidence-based conclusions, make recommendations and inform decision making (Lead Criteria).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information in a way that is appropriate and straightforward to the audience.
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel to produce accurate data and models, and confident with other Microsoft applications including SharePoint, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent planning, organisation and project co-ordination skills, with evidence of working successfully to tight deadlines and managing multiple deliverables;
  • Relevant experience of working in a customer-facing environment, requiring collaboration with wider stakeholders to deliver impactful outcomes.

Selection process details

This vacancy is using Success Profiles (opens in a new window), and will assess your Behaviours and Experience.

The selection process will comprise of the sift (CV & application review) and interview.

An initial sift based on the Lead Criteria may be held if a large number of applications are received.

If your application then progresses to a full sift, all elements of the essential criteria listed under Person Specification of the role profile will then be considered.

The sifting dates are 30th July to 2nd August 2024.

If your application is successful, you will be invited to attend an interview.

This will be a 45-60 minute panel interview, where you will be asked behaviour-based questions based on the behaviours and experience specified in the role profile.

Interviews will be held on MS Teams or face to face in our London office.

You will also be asked to complete an Excel-based task prior to the interview. 

You will be notified via email to log-in to your Civil Service Account to book your interview slot. You will then be sent an email with full details of your arrangements for interview.

Interviews will be held between 12th to 23rd August 2024.
