This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Facilities Manager to join a team and be responsible for some of the most critical and interesting infrastructure in South East England. This role will be working within a key defence operational environment based in London area. The Facilities Manager will join a team working in close collaboration with the Industry Partner (IP), asset stakeholders, contractors and other agencies to deliver key tasks including ensuring statutory compliance of the estate together with delivery of customer development tasks across the SE. The postholder will ensure delivery of the correct level of service against agreed indicators. Where necessary, enabling issue resolution to maintain operational outputs against agreed requirements. Working closely with our Hard and Soft service Industry Partners we seek to deliver the service, by proactive, innovative and sustainable solutions.

We embrace Flexible Working and will provide the IT equipment to support remote working. However, this role will require significant (almost daily) site presence to engage with suppliers and customers on sensitive issues. There may be occasional travel to sites within the SE Region, with overnight stays.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.  It is a predominantly site based position.

Job description

  • Customer Representative for delivery of Hard and Soft Services 
  • Management of all local additional works service tasks arising from inspections and in response to local demands  -
  • Ensuring the engagement and stakeholder management of the specified assets and its customer    -
  • Working in collaboration with the Industry Partner (IP), contractors and other agencies to deliver key tasks including providing assurance of delivery and statutory compliance of the estate together with delivery of customer development tasks.  
  • Ensuring that the IP is delivering the correct level of service against agreed indicators and enabling issue resolution to maintain operational outputs against agreed requirements. 
  • Assurance of both hard and soft delivery for a multiplicity of tasks with a particular focus on statutory compliance 
  • Collation and reporting of hard and soft facilities management data.  
  • Maintaining key stakeholder engagement with both industry partner and customer representatives.  
  • Effective and timely issue management. 
  • Liaising with the Facilities and Projects Manager to ensure delivery of  Command Infrastructure Development Plan (CIDP) works.
