As the UK’s regulator for the energy industry, Ofgem works on behalf of energy consumers to ensure that every household and business in the UK can rely on a safe, affordable and environmentally sustainable energy supply. Now that record increases and volatility in global gas prices have put the energy market under severe strain, we’re more than ever looking for ways to innovate and modernise our approach to energy regulation. We are building a Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) driven organisation at Ofgem, and we need the best people involved to help us provide our customers with outstanding experiences,

This is an opportunity for an experienced DevOps Engineer to take on a central role in our technical community – working to ensure the continuity and resilience of our cloud PaaS/IaaS, working with Kubernetes clusters in Azure. You can expect to be deeply involved in continuous improvements to platforms, including system development, processes design and automation and diagnostics improvements to deliver assurance of platform security, privacy and resilience. You’ll work collaboratively within and beyond the DevOps community, using agile methodologies to securely automate and improve efficiencies between different internal platforms.

It’s a highly innovative working environment – both in terms of the technology we use and the working practices we adopt. We’re revolutionising how data is used within the energy sector making it a core tool in delivering our ambitions of net zero carbon emissions and lower energy prices for consumers.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team testing the boundaries of energy regulation in the UK, and to take your career to the next level.

We welcome candidates from all backgrounds, and especially welcome individuals from underrepresented groups. While this is a full-time role, flexible working patterns and job shares are welcome.
