We are now looking for a Senior Delivery Manager to help us to achieve this. If you have experience of working in a change or delivery environment and/or have proven experience of planning and delivering significant IT changes, we would love to hear from you.

Job description

A Senior Delivery Manager is responsible for creating the right environment for effective delivery as well as ensuring: work and progress is transparent; collaboration and communication is working across teams and other parts of the organisation; blockers and obstacles are removed or escalated; risks and dependencies are appropriately managed; people and teams are happy and motivated; budgeting, commercials and iterative planning and the pipeline of future work is considered.

You will...  

  • Support delivery managers, who work at a team level and work closely with other practices.
  • Point of escalation and decision making for the teams regarding delivery issues, providing coaching, guidance and practical advice.
  • Share knowledge and experience with others, in line with continuous improvement agenda and to help build Delivery capability for the future.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, other teams and other parts of the organisation and ensure continual healthy stakeholder relationships.
  • Facilitate the creation of forecasts that consider estimates, risks, contingency, and assumptions and to provide options on delivery of solutions.
  • Publish regular relevant information for transparency of progress and reporting purposes.
  • Actively contribute to the relevant governance processes with clear metrics.
  • Ensure clear overview of changes across multiple projects and streams and identify potential issues/opportunities and execute and escalate the relevant actions.
  • Work persistently within the delivery practice community to ensure complete end to end robust solutions.
  • Be part of Senior Leadership and Management Team including leading and continually improving your practice, helping staff engagement and enabling the T&T Group evolution and plans.

Person specification

To be successful in this role, you will hold a degree level or equivalent qualification in Information Technology or a related area or have significant experience in an IT field. You will have a proven track record of effective delivery using agile and lean approaches and knowledge of agile/lean tools and techniques. You will also have thorough knowledge and experience of delivery in an iterative and continuous delivery environment. You will have the ability to prioritise multiple demands, tasks and teams and respond quickly to changing circumstances.

Where an individual taking up the responsibility will be based in Swansea Office, the ability to speak Welsh is desirable.

Please note occasional travel will be necessary to HM Land Registry business units, external supplier sites and other Government Departments.
