Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and professional Senior Business Relationship Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for managing and overseeing the successful delivery of both the Business Relationship Management team (BRM) and the Divisional Support Team (DST) workstreams. This post offers an exciting opportunity to develop and deliver real improvements in the way we process the significant volume of work that both teams are responsible for.  You will report directly to the Head of Service Operations. You will work in partnership with teams across ITS, HSE partners and HSE colleagues to deliver a service seeking for operational excellence.

As the Senior Business Relationship Manager for ITS, you will liaise with stakeholders across the divisions and directorates delivering exceptional customer service. You will work closely alongside the ITS Portfolio Director, adopting a matrix management approach in terms of the resource management and deliverables.

You will be an experienced Line Manager, that enjoys working to deadlines as well as possessing excellent leadership abilities, and a proven track record of successfully managing a similar service team. You will be able to work using your own initiative.

You will have familiarity with the operation and management of an IT Service in a corporate environment, and possess some understanding of ITIL Version 4 lifecycle. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Business Relationship Management Team and be the principal relationship manager within HSE’s divisions and directorates, where you will plan and account for the BRM and DSTs work
  • Lead and manage the ITS Divisional Support Team, adopting a matrix management approach in conjunction with the ITS Portfolio Programme Director in terms of resource management and deliverables
  • Ensure the effective development and maintenance of an efficient working relationship between all parts of the HSE with IT Services
  • Identify HSE’s divisions and directorates needs and requirements for IT Services
  • Measure, monitor and report on ITS divisional performance, holding colleagues to account for the delivery of their performance, developing and utilising supportive measures and escalation routes where appropriate.
  • Ensure the delivery of core business services to support the ITS. Be the conduit into IT Services for divisions and directorates requests for change and requirements for new services
  • Ensure the alignment of the IT Strategy to HSE business plans, monitoring its delivery in ITS, and supporting divisions and directorates objectives and ways of working. Communicate to divisions and directorates the IT Strategy, policies and processes
  • Communicate and discuss with divisions and directorates the risks associated with the delivery of their IT Services, with oversight of ITS risks
  • Manage the HSE Customer Satisfaction Survey process and ITS Assurance Framework providing reports to ITS Senior Leadership Team as required. This also includes managing a complaints and escalation process for divisions and directorates on IT Service issues

Person specification

Essential Criteria

  • Familiarity with the operation and management of an IT Service in a corporate environment, including business processes
  • Experienced and effective Line Manager
  • Knowledge of the ITIL v4 lifecycle
  • Good customer service experience
  • Good communication skills
