Would you like to join a developing team of relationship managers to build and preserve trusting and productive relationships between our business and digital directorates?

Job Summary

You will be working closely with our commercial teams as they develop our next generation of commercial frameworks.  Advising our commercial teams to ensure that the digital requirements of the products are accurately captured and articulated from the outset.  This will involve being a part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the digital elements of our new products are delivered on time and fit for purpose.

Team Summary

You will be joining a new team of relationship managers and as such will be in the position to shape and develop digital business relationship management within CCS.  The team will provide critical links between the commercial and digital directorate of the business as we continue to serve the interests of our customers in Central Government and the Wider Public Sector. They will also heavily support CCS in developing its digital tools to support the Transformation of Public Procurement .

Job description

Key accountabilities:

  • You will be responsible for developing and managing the Digital Directorate’s engagement plan with one of our six commercial directorates.

  • Work closely with the business to ensure they have an appropriate understanding of new and existing digital services available

  • Ensure customer satisfaction is managed and improved, through effective engagement, continuous improvement and communications.

  • Operate as an integral part of the Commercial Directorate’s senior management team offering advice and guidance where digital solutions are appropriate and reporting and articulating digital requirements to the technical teams in the Digital Directorate.

  • Manage and forecast the pipeline of business demand, capturing, analysing and prioritising business requirements, ensuring viability of delivery and minimising the use of bespoke solutions.

  • Provide relevant data and reports for all related digital and technology activities between the Commercial and Digital Directorates within  CCS to ensure adherence to digital strategy agreed technical architecture .

  • You will manage and influence stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for the business, in terms of; value for money, return on investment and commercial benefit.

  • You will be a principal author of the digital development strategy and policy within the Digital Directorate.

  • You will act as a translator and mediator between the business and the digital developments teams both internally and with external partners in gathering ideas and translating them to technical solutions.

  • Track business satisfaction and commission required initiatives to increase alignment, improve performance and raise satisfaction levels.

  • Assist the commercial elements of the business in the development of the business case, and to navigate governance processes and compliance with digital policies

  • Drive resolution of significant business issues / escalations, ensuring effective communications and updates

Person specification

Essential Criteria (To be assessed at application stage):

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with an innate ability to identify the root cause of issues and problems. 

  • Experience of working in project/change delivery.

  • Familiar with qualitative and quantitative research techniques used for gathering insight

  • Having excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical jargon into easily digestible messages for a diverse range of audiences

  • Using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint at a proficient level.

Desirable criteria 

  • Having a broad understanding of or experience in the digital and technology professions

  • Previous experience in business analysis. 

  • A working knowledge of ITIL Service management Framework.

In the event of a high number of quality applications, desirable will be used as a second sift.
