The Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) is a part of the Ministry of Defence responsible for the procurement, in-service support, and disposal of the UK’s nuclear submarines. We have excellent progressive career opportunities to join the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) as a Business Change Manager.

In this dynamic and challenging role, you will operate as a catalyst for change ensuring the organisation’s strategies are optimised and provide a bridge between the delivery of change activities and the transition into business-as-usual ensuring business benefits are achieved. 

Using your knowledge and experience, you will have the skills to support the development of the case for change and assess the organisation’s readiness for the changes to be made, making a positive difference to our organisation. 

This is an exciting opportunity, which will require you to engage with colleagues at all levels and across all areas of the business. You will use your strong stakeholder management skills to build networks and share change best practice.  As part of the Strategy Implementation team, you will be involved in designing, shaping and implementing key change interventions to improve how the SDA operates. 

At the SDA, we champion flexible ways of working. Regular in-person attendance is required to promote the benefits of face-to-face collaboration alongside flexibility of hours to support work-life balance. Initially, you may be expected to attend more frequently to familiarise yourselves with the site, the team, and your role.

What you’ll be doing

  • Design, manage and implement change initiatives in delivery of strategic change projects. 
  • Establish and maintain the change plan for the project. 
  • Conduct effective stakeholder management by setting up networks to maximise engagement and buy-in to the change as well as drawing on embedded change experience within the business. 
  • Champion the use of best practice methodologies and provide expert change management advice to stakeholders. 
  • Support the Project Manager and stakeholders to identify and leverage benefits and prioritise initiatives that bring the greatest benefit. 
  • Develop clear vision and standards and champion the use of best practice business change management standards, tools, and processes.

  • Experience of delivering sustainable change within a large or complex organisation.
  • Knowledge of change management principles, protocols, and models.
