Job summary

The Post Holder will provide reliable STRAP Security and CRYPTO Accountancy support to a high tempo Electronic Warfare and Signals Intelligence Sqn within a High Readiness Commando Unit.  A successful applicant will need to achieve DV clearance and ideally have a background in handling and accounting for classified material. They should be proficient in the use of IT including the Microsoft Office Suite of applications.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description

Main details of the role include but are not limited to: 

  • Maintain the security of all Y Sqn STRAP and CRYPTO holdings and ensure associated compliance.   
  • Maintain an accurate system of Central Accounting for all Cryptographic items issued to the Squadron using a register of cryptographic items with supporting vouchers to record every transaction. This requirement includes the bi-annual mustering of cryptographic material for external audit.   
  • Support the Unit by maintaining a database of Unit DV holders and their expiry dates and issue renewal reminders 6 months prior to expiry.   
  • With the authority of the Corporate STRAPSO (RN) they should also conduct STRAP induction / de-induction as required.
