Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who enjoys dealing with people. The successful candidate should have effective communication and organisational skills; be proficient in Microsoft Office Skills. You will interact with prospective candidates for the RN on a daily basis providing information on recruitment matters, liaising with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in Recruitment and Attraction HQ and supporting the RF Recruitment Team with administrative processes.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working.  This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance.  The position is advertised at 37 hrs a week.

Job description

As an Administration Officer you will work alongside your military colleagues and provide administrative support to the Armed Forces Careers Offices (AFCOs) to assist them in maximising RN recruitment and outreach activity and the entry of candidates into the New Entry Training Establishments.

1. Provide support, through the Team Manager (TM), to the management of all aspects of the recruitment selection process and administrative requirements, including but not limited to; updating Recruiting IT System (RITS) and actioning all tasks, including sending Joining Instructions on RITS, processing Residency Waivers, liaison with the Admiralty Interview Board (AIB), Recruitment Officer (RO), Recruitment Managers (RMs) and TMs as needed to progress applications.  .


2. Support the booking of travel and accommodation for candidates for face-to-face events, including but not limited to: Booking medicals, Flying Aptitude Test (FATs) and Aircrew medicals, Candidate Preparation Courses (CPCs), Ships/Establishment visits/Look at Life.

Person specification

The successful applicant will require a good working knowledge of MS Office, have effective communication and people skills as well as being proactive and able to work cohesively with all staff within the Recruiting Force.  There are times that work priorities change at short notice and the post holder will also need to deliver on these requirements.
