Role Summary
Due to an unprecedented period of demand for legal services, Government Legal Department is growing at pace.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised individual to join our newly re-structured team. You will contribute to delivering a high-quality recruitment service that sits at the heart of Government and will have a direct impact on the ability of GLD to attract and retain the talent we need.
This job description encompasses all the roles we have in our team within the grade however, you will not be expected to perform all duties. You will be made aware by your line manager of the duties that you are to undertake.
Typical duties will include:-
- Being the key point of contact for recruitment campaign requests, working to ensure regular stakeholder engagement and to ensure that high standards are achieved.
- Ensuring the delivery of a best-in-class recruitment service to all stakeholders.
- Communicating and dealing with a range of stakeholders, including senior leaders, as well as professionally qualified lawyers, external partners, and the Civil Service Commission.
To succeed in this role, you will have a passion for recruitment and have a customer centric focus, being highly organised, responsive, attentive to detail and driven to deliver results.

Essential criteria:
- Previous experience of working in a customer focused resourcing (or similar) team in a fast-paced environment.
- A team player, who is adaptable able to work effectively as part of a busy team, with attention to detail, sharing information, communication and liaising with colleagues.
- Experience of delivering in a fast-paced environment and able to demonstrate that.
Technical:
- Willing to work towards or having achieved CIPD accreditation.

Selection Process
After the closing date, the appointing panel shall assess candidates’ suitability for the role based on evidence provided in their application against the behaviours and experience outlined in the person specification. The panel reserve the right to raise the benchmark when inviting candidates to interview.
Interview
Should you be successful in being invited to interview, you will be assessed on your performance in all essential criteria as listed in the Person Specification, alongside strength-based questions. Candidates invited to interview will be given further information on the day and time to prepare.

Interviews will probably take place remotely via video conference, full details of the interview format will be provided to shortlisted candidates prior to interview. We appoint in strict order of merit. If you meet the minimum criteria for this position but are not successful for a post, you will be placed on the reserve list for up to 12 months. We then may contact you to see if you are interested in a post at the same, or a lower grade, in GLD should one arise.
