About the Resourcing Team

GLD’s Resourcing Team sits within the HR and Strategy, People and Culture Directorate. Our recently re structured Resourcing Team has three core functions: 

  • Attraction and recruitment – focussing on innovative solutions to deliver the attraction strategy for GLD, using latest models, professional networks and outreach to recruit the best people. This team sets the direction and pace for GLD’s presence and attractiveness in the legal professional market place across the UK.  
  • Resourcing Operations – managing the candidate experience through application and interview to arrival and on boarding. This team is our engine room, welcoming and supporting all those involved in the internal and external aspects of filling vacancies.
  • Resourcing Performance – driving continuous improvement for the performance of team along with management of supplier contracts and ensuring we are compliant with GLD and Civil Service recruiting principles. This team keeps us at the forefront of our aims of delivering excellence and value for money. 
     

Job description

The Role 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised individual to join our team. You will contribute to delivering a high-quality recruitment service that sits at the heart of Government and will have a direct impact on the ability of GLD to attract and retain the talent we need.

Being the key point of contact for recruitment campaigns, you will need excellent communication skills to deal with a range of stakeholders including; senior leaders, qualified lawyers, external partners and the Civil Service Commission.

To succeed in this role, you will have a passion for recruitment and a customer centric focus, being highly organised, responsive, attentive to detail and driven to deliver results. 

Key Responsibilities include: 

  • Ensure recruitment activities adhere to the Civil Service Commission’s Recruitment Principles of open & fair competition -including accurate result compilation and ordering of a merit list.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders across the team and within the business to ensure all are supported within your workstream.
  • Ensure that sift and interview packs are sent to vacancy holders and panels and providing them with all guidance needed.
  • Manage and maintain the shared team mailboxes providing trusted information and support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure queries via HR ticketing system are assigned to the correct team members and processed in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring Pre-Employment Checks are completed and that Conditional/Unconditional Offer Letters are issued to candidates without  any delays to the expected timeline.
  • Oversight of all onboarding tasks within the team ensuring timely completion.
  • Management and maintenance of time sensitive actions for candidates such as those on Fixed Term Appointments or with visa requirements.

Experience

  • Previous experience of working in a customer focussed resourcing (or similar) team in a fast-paced environment
  • A team player, who is adaptable, able to work effectively as part of a busy team, with attention to detail, sharing information, communication and liaising with colleagues
  • Experience of or ability to manage and develop a small team.
  • Experience of delivering in a fast-paced environment and able to demonstrate that. 

Technical (Desirable)

  • CIPD accreditation or willingness to work towards
