Job description

The Review of Electricity Market Arrangements (REMA) delivery team are responsible for delivering high quality project and programme products and artefacts to ensure the progress and alignment of this complex delivery. REMA’s Management team take a risk-based approach to delivery, so we have a detailed risk and issue register. We also track planned progress through a suit of trackers and dashboards to ensure key stakeholders are kept up to date on the programme’s status. We work alongside busy implementation, strategy, policy and analyst teams on the development of plans, schedules, forward look and assurance products to ensure REMA able to deliver on time to required standards.

Key responsibilities

PMO Support: To deliver proactive project management support to G7's in the Energy Affordability portfolio.

  • Project Performance & Controls – Establish and operate controls, reporting on project progress and status to appropriate bodies.
  • Stakeholder Management - Work collaboratively with other policy teams and professions, to build strong relationships to ensure delivery of the team’s objectives.  Lead and support the PMO on appropriate tools and techniques for managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Business Case Development – you may be required to draft parts of the business case (governance section). Liaise with business case investment approval boards and ensure business case has timely slots at all relevant approval boards. Prepare papers for Investment approval boards.
  • Risks and Issues –supporting the identification of threats to delivery working with risk managers to monitor and evaluate risks and managing reporting on issues and risks as appropriate.
  • Change Management – Establish and implement protocols to change the scope of new projects and/or programmes and update configuration documents as required.
  • Monitoring and reporting – Maintain project controls and support teams to prepare project performance reports. Challenge colleagues (including at senior level) on inputs to planning and reporting as required.
  • Governance & Support – Identify, develop, and share best practice project management processes, tools and templates. Provides direction and guidance to the projects.

Skills and experience

Essential:

  • You must have either, at least 2 years' experience working within a large-scale project or programme or hold a Project Management qualification (as listed below
  • APM Project Management Qualification
  • APMG International Project Planning and Control Practitioner
  • PRINCE 2 Practitioner
  • Managing Successful Programmes Practitioner
  • PMI Project Management Professional
  • Agile Practitioner
  • Be self-motivated and highly organised with an ability to prioritise and manage workload, as well as producing high quality outcomes (sometimes to tight and challenging deadlines).
  • Experience monitoring and tracking activities.
  • Confident written communication
  • Experience working in a fast pace and unpredictable environment.
  • A strong team player with willingness to support the wider team, where required.


Desirable:

  • Experience of planning, risk and issue management and collating reports on progress for senior leaders.
