Job summary

The Relationship Executive will be responsible for supporting the management of a portfolio of Customers, working in conjunction with the Relationship teams based in UK & Singapore, to retain our existing customer base, manage a seamless transition into our next generation of products and services and support revenue and growth. 

The Relationship Executive will also be responsible for supporting the future strategy and opportunities for Customers and represent their voice within the UKHO to inform internal decision making. Whilst supporting the management and coordination of activities in support of customers and building customer relationships, the postholder will need to be flexible and adaptable as no two customers are the same. 

Customer’s needs are different and the postholder will need to be able to adapt to changing priorities and business models. The postholder will be expected to understand the current products and services and remain up to date with new and emerging ones. They will analyse sales information to identify trends and areas of concern, which in turn, needs to be shared across UKHO stakeholders to shape UKHO’s strategic direction and ensure commercial opportunities are realised.

Our team are in office on average 2/3 day a week, working from home, or on external engagement on other days but not always on a fixed pattern as the working pattern is dependent on business needs.

This role will require at least 3 days a week in the office for the first 3 – 6 months due to the required level of engagement and relationship building across the business. 

For external candidates who are not familiar with the business, there will be a minimum requirement of at least an initial month in the office every day, after which a hybrid pattern can be considered depending on progress.

Job description

  • Responsible for the management of accounts through agreed Relationship Management practices and procedures. Develop relationships with international accounts at a level appropriate for achievement of mutually beneficial goals. Achieve this through varying communication methods.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on full portfolio of ADMIRALTY products, services, and solutions to a standard where the postholder can demonstrate confidently to customers. Be accountable for and measured against the delivery of agreed monthly sales targets for revenue and growth.
  • Act as the voice of the customer and share market intelligence and competition threats to the UKHO through face-to-face meetings, written reports and full utilisation of the Customer Relationship Management system.
  • Provide support and resilience for the Relationship Managers and their respective customers through a buddy system. Creating shared knowledge and insight standard to the Relationship Managers customers, to understudy or set up into their role when business needs require

Person specification

  • The successful candidate will be a self-starter, capable of working independently and with limited direction, a confident communicator with excellent emotional intelligence and capable of building professional relationships.
  • The successful candidate will need to quickly understand the UKHO’s proposition.
  • Experience of working with commercial customers.
  • Experience of relationship or account management for the purpose of delivering business benefits or creating shared value across organisation.
