This role is within the UKHSA Product & Delivery Directorate and delivers product management across Lateral flow testing and PCR testing devices which aim to protect those most vulnerable to the effects of respiratory viruses. This work is an important part of the wider strategy for safely living with COVID 19 and future health threats.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) operates a hybrid working model where business needs allow.  This provides us with greater flexibility about how and where we work, to get the best from our workforce. As a hybrid worker, you will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of your contractual working hours (approximately 3 days a week pro rata, (averaged over a month) working at one of UKHSA's locations (Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, and London).  Specialist or regional roles will be based at the appropriate UKHSA site. For certain roles, some additional flexibility may be possible, which will be agreed upon with the hiring manager based on individual requirements and business needs.

*Please be aware that this role can only be worked from within the UK and not overseas. Relocation expenses are not available.*

Responsibilities section:

As a Product Manager your main responsibilities will include:

  • Define short- and medium-term priorities for the product introduction, and drive development of high-quality products and adoption of these across populations.
  • Manage product backlog, oversee development stages and unblock issues for team.
  • Provide strategic oversight and senior stakeholder engagement across the programme.
  • Build strong working relationships and manage expectations of various internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Identify key stakeholders to keep them informed of product development.
  • Manage day to day interaction with suppliers.

Essential Criteria:

Essential

  • Experience in product development and agile ways of working
  • Leadership and team management

Desirable

  • Experience in management of respiratory testing products.
  • Understanding of product respiratory testing product regulatory and compliance procedures.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of government procurement mechanisms.
