Job summary

UK Security Vetting (UKSV) has an exciting opportunity as we expand our Delivery teams. Based at the heart of security for the United Kingdom, you will be at the forefront of delivery operations for the entire business, working with a diverse team and have the opportunity to progress your professional skills.

You will be involved in the case management and pre-assessment of applications for National Security Vetting, including Counter Terrorist Check
(CTC), Security Check (SC) and Developed Vetting (DV).

Due to the diverse nature of this position, you may also be assisting our delivery function with a range of national security vetting deliverables including pre-assessment delivery, case management and administrative support.

Job description

This role will give you an excellent insight to different areas of the business, allow you to collaborate with multi skilled teams and progress your professional skill set with a role that will provide you with a diverse workload.

Your daily duties will also include but not be limited to:

  • Working as part of a team responsible for delivering a full review of vetting applications; including confirming identity and checking information provided.
  • Responding to enquiries and seeking further information from vetting subjects, sponsors and others in the vetting community. This may be via email or telephone.
  • Sensitively and securely handling customer information. Attention to detail and discretion are essential as vetting confidentiality is paramount in safeguarding the personal information being processed.
  • Providing a quality service, understanding the end-to-end vetting process and appreciating where your role fits into this to identify the right actions and interventions to best support applications and colleagues.

Essential Criteria

As a Pre-Assessor within UK Security Vetting we are looking for people who have the following expertise and attributes:

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • The capacity to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Able to handle customer information sensitively and securely.
  • Good IT skills, including a working knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
  • Good communication skills; able to articulate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
  • The ability to deliver a consistent and high-quality customer-focused service to relevant stakeholders.
  • The ability to make impartial and well-considered judgements.
  • The ability to deliver at pace and work towards targets, whilst not compromising on quality. 

Additional information:

A minimum 60% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace. Although requirements to attend other locations for official business will also count towards this level of attendance.

To assess experience you will be asked to provide 250-word personal statement as part of the application process. For your personal statement please detail your experience relevant to the role with particular reference to the essential criteria listed in the 'Person Specification' section of the job advert.
