Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Development and delivery of safer road user policy, particularly in the context of the Safe System approach, to improve safety and ensure an enhanced road user experience.
  • Adopting an evidence-based approach to policy design maintaining awareness of research and reports that can help shape future policy for safer road users ensuring deliverables have the support and buy-in from relevant stakeholders.
  • Production of briefing packs to support ministerial meetings, events and visits.
  • Drafting of submissions to provide information to ministers to enable them to make informed decisions on actions to improve the safety of road users.
  • Drafting of correspondence replies to MPs, stakeholders and members of the public, setting out Government policy in a clear and informative way.
