Job description

We have a high profile, unique opportunity within the DVLA for a Personalised Registrations (PR) Manager. You will be responsible for delivering the provision, commercial and operational elements of the Personalised Registrations sales scheme including web sales and auctions, ensuring sales and income targets are met. We will look for you to deliver business initiatives to increase product value and improve customer experience.

The role also provides vast exposure to develop a broad network with a wide range of internal stakeholders across the Agency, as well as external organisations.

Key accountabilities of the role include:

  • Ensure revenue targets and customer service targets are achieved through the day to day operational management of the business which includes management of the PR auctions and the management of the DVLA PR website.
  • To develop contribute towards business / sales strategy to ensure the long term success of the sales scheme.
  • Support the identification, pricing, and performance monitoring of all registrations. Consider prices against market values to inform pricing strategies.
  • Implement agreed business initiatives and process improvements. Provide SME advice and guidance to stakeholders, projects and initiatives.
  • Represent DVLA at external events, provide SME advice to stakeholders, and promote positive customer and supplier relationship.

Additional information

This role will be based in Swansea, and we will be operating a hybrid working model that allows you to work between home and on-site giving you greater flexibility about where and when you work, subject to business needs and this also allows for ongoing support, development, and collaboration with colleagues.  

Therefore, the expectation is that you will spend a minimum of 60% of your working time based at your principal workplace (DVLA). We would encourage you to discuss the working arrangements for this role with us during the recruitment process.

Person specification

We are looking for a highly confident individual with experience or an understanding of delivering a sales strategy. You will have previously worked in an operational planning role and understand what it takes to drive your team to the next level.

You will need strong interpersonal and relationship building skills allowing you to communicate effectively with an audience. We will look for you to drive innovation, change and be forward thinking, a true trusted advisor to the business who can influence key decision making.

Due to the high-profile nature of this role we will ensure you are media trained for TV/Radio and press interviews.

Additional Skills and Experience:

  • Be adaptable and flexible, adjusting to the requirements and strategic direction of the Agency.
  • A solid understanding of sales budgets and forecasting with the ability to perform analysis of financial data.
  • Good analytical skills, able to spot trends and inconsistencies in data.
  • Experience of managing internal and external stakeholders, driving performance and improvements.
  • Highly resilient with strong organisational and planning skills, capable of prioritising a full workload.
  • Able to motivate change and promote a continuous improvement culture.
