Job summary

We are seeking an experienced People Services Co-ordinator to join our team in Birmingham, on a fixed term contract. As the People Services Co-ordinator, you will contribute to continuity of business as usual activity, as well as supporting People Services with one of our main corporate priority deliverables, implementation of a new corporate HR and Payroll system. We would like the role to start February/March 2024 to enable a handover from the existing People Services Co-ordinator.

Job description

You will be responsible for providing excellent service to managers, colleagues and suppliers to coordinate the processes involved in payroll, recruitment, on-boarding, contract production and learning events. You work as part of a team to ensure that services are delivered efficiently, making this a great place to work. You will be part of the broader People Services team delivering joined up service delivery, advice and solutions in line with our strategic objectives.

What you will deliver (Responsibilities):

It’s about excellent People Services: You will be responsible for responding to all first line queries via our dedicated support request service. You will administer payroll, respond to pension and benefit related queries, co-ordinate on-boarding activities, the production of contracts and accuracy of people data held within our people systems.

It’s about great customer service: You will be responsible for co-ordinating and organising information, people and suppliers. You will support the L&D team with the general administration of training events, plus specifically the general ongoing administration of the Learning Management System. You will also support the administration of recruitment services and be a key point of contact for new employees.

It’s about analysis, information and improvement: You will deal with system maintenance throughout the employee lifecycle as well as issue diagnosis/problem solving on systems. You will explore problems, test solutions and rectify or escalate as needed.

It’s about raising standards: You will contribute to changing the way services are delivered to make them efficient and effective. You will contribute to the improvement of process and technology. You will develop yourself and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

It’s about teamwork: You will help create a great place to work by supporting colleagues to achieve results, working effectively as a team. You will support the day-to-day work of the team to ensure services can be delivered to meet the required standards as well as participate in projects and ad hoc people activities as required.

Person specification

Key knowledge, skills and experience:

- Experience within administration, ideally associated with Payroll, Recruitment, Training and HR processes
- Some experience of working with HR Information Systems (such as Sage and iTrent)
- Highly organised and able to work efficiently with tight deadlines, prioritising as required
- Good level of Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent written skills
- Accuracy and an eye for detail
- Experience of organising events
- Experience of working with a wide range of customers and external providers.
- Excellent communication and team working skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
