Job summary

We are currently looking for a Partnerships Policy and Parliamentary Coordinator to join our Policy and Regulatory Reform Team Partnerships within the Partnerships group.

This is a full-time opportunity (part time will be also considered for this post), on a 12-month fixed term contract basis. The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.  

Government departments and agencies are working towards implementing a minimum 60% attendance in office sites.

We are currently implementing a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 4 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, this can flex up to 8 days a month, with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will need to be on site more regularly. Remote working is potentially available for some specific roles. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency enhance and improve the health of millions of people every day through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices, underpinned by science and research.  

The Partnerships Group is responsible for shaping the policy to guide the MHRA’s operations, for developing the national, international, and commercial partnerships that the MHRA needs to be successful; and for transforming and modernised the legal regime for medicines and medical devices which underpins all our work. 

We are working on issues that are at the heart of public health – fast, safe access to medicines and medical devices, working with industry and NHS and other health Arm’s Length Bodies (ALBs); tackling global health threats such as COVID19 and possible future pandemics; supporting the future of the life sciences industry in the UK.  We do all this while ensuring the voice of patients is at the heart of our work.

Job description

What’s the role?

The aim of the role will include both core responsibilities including coordination of our key Policy and Parliamentary commitments and supporting projects across the range of Partnerships responsibilities and reaching across the whole of the Agency’s work.  You will have the opportunity to collaborate with experts across MHRA and other health organisations, working across the national and international space, to identify and resolve issues.

Key responsibilities: 

  • To be first point of contact for ensuring the Agency meets policy and parliamentary commitments, responding to Parliamentary questions (PQs) and correspondence.
  • To support the delivery of ministerial submissions, ensuring that organisational submissions are high quality and have been through appropriate sign-off.
  • To coordinate updates to the partnerships intranet page and support the delivery of parliamentary training to colleagues across the organisation.
  • Support colleagues across Partnerships Group to ensure joined up and collaborative working, enabling an agile and iterative relationship between partnering and policy activities.
