We have opportunities for Operations Analysts within our Operational Delivery Profession where you will be responsible for a wide range of duties. The opportunities available are a great starting point for those who are looking for their first step into a career within the Energy sector, Ofgem and of course other areas within the Civil Service. You’ll be working alongside an experienced and supportive line manager and full training will be provided. The Operations Delivery profession pride themselves on being a friendly and collaborative profession who will be there to help and support you through your Ofgem journey. 

To be successful in this role you will have good data and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.  Having good organisational skills will enable you to prioritise your workload effectively and you’ll also need to show that you can successfully establish positive working relationships with different colleagues across Ofgem and our external partners.

Job description

Ofgem administers a wide portfolio of environmental schemes, such as the Renewables Obligation; Non-Domestic RHI (NI and GB); Domestic RHI (GB); and Feed-In-Tariffs (FITs). As part of the administration of these schemes, we are tasked with the assessment of a large volume of applications to verify eligibility, assessment of high volume and value data submissions, working on amendments, carrying out calculations/review of quantitative data sets, maintaining internal databases; and authorising payments/certificates to participants. 

The Operational Delivery profession manages the day-to-day operations of scheme delivery. It works in collaboration with all portfolios to deliver excellence. Operations Analysts will work to help deliver the team and portfolio objectives and they will work in one of the above areas or a combination of them. 

Person specification

  • The ability to work in a self-directed manner to a high quality, processing detailed information and evidence to make well supported decisions. (Lead criteria)
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.

Selection process details
