Job summary

The Operational Head of Facilities Management has leadership responsibility for supporting the development and delivery of the FM Estates Strategy, including implementation of the Government Estates Smarter Working standards. The post holder is required to provide professional leadership, support, advice and guidance expected of an experienced property and project manager for all estate matters, including a relocation of the SFO’s current office.

Job description

As an Operational Head of Facilities Management, you will be responsible for:

Strategy

  • Develop and deliver effective and efficient building standards and services, supporting strategic accommodation objectives. To work with the Head of FM and Commercial, landlords and managing agents to ensure continual improvement of the estate, incorporating relevant industry best practice, sustainable development, DDA and H&S.
  • Plan and implement office accommodation and services in line with strategic decisions, acting as the project manager for all minor building works. To act as the FM business continuity contact for emergencies and being on-call.
  • To assist the Head of FM and Commercial with relocation to a new building(s) and leading the FM project work stream, covering changes in; design, building infrastructure, working practices, and the physical move. To ensure that the relocation to a new office is delivered, on time, to budget and meets the quality standards set, incorporating the Smarter Working and Functional standards. Working collaboratively with other work stream leads, providing support as necessary, providing regular updates and options to the Head of FM and Commercial.
  • To report on the SFO’s sustainable development targets and provide input in to the SFO’s Annual Report in accordance with reporting requirements.

 Governance

  • Acting as the departmental representative for Health and Safety.
  • Responsible for managing all FM contracts and services, including the SFO’s main switchboard. To ensure that internal services provided by the FM team meet the SFO’s operational requirements and that all external suppliers and supply chains meet their contractual obligations, e.g. SLAs and KPIs. To hold quarterly performance reviews to ensure standards are maintained and where necessary, improved, escalating matters when necessary to the Head of FM and Commercial.
