Job summary

His Majesty's Naval Base Clyde (HMNB Clyde) is home to the United Kingdom's Strategic Nuclear Deterrent, Astute Class Submarines, Sandown Class Mine Hunter Vessels and 43 Commando Royal Marines. It is an operational support and maintenance Naval Base within Navy Command and comprises both Faslane and Coulport Sites.

HMNB Clyde's primary purpose is to provide engineering and logistical support to the Royal Navy in maintaining Continuous at Sea Deterrent (CASD). This is achieved by ensuring at least one Vanguard Class submarine is on patrol at sea every day of the year.

HMNB Clyde is the single operational home of the Submarine Service and the United Kingdom's Submarine Centre of Excellence. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the Royal Navy's operational commitments across all Defence Lines of Development from Scotland on enduring basis. The location offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills through training and opportunities for career progression.

HMNB Clyde is undergoing a high value programme of infrastructure development (>£1Bn over the next decade.) The Integrated Planner role is part of a small Navy Command team supporting delivery of the Clyde Infrastructure Programme and Major Projects Programme delivering the infrastructure solutions to develop HMNB Clyde as the Submarine Centre of Specialisation.

Job description

The Integrated Planner 1.1.1 (IP1.1.1) role is responsible for developing and maintaining the Northern Waterfront Infrastructure Integrated Plan (NWIIP). The NWIIP covers the Superintendent Faslane Site & King's Harbour Master areas within the Clyde Single Infrastructure (CSI) construct and draws together key milestones; critical dates and interdependencies between CIP, BM, FMSP, FWS, & Maintenance; DHDA Design & Safety Case; Operational plans & programmes. 

The post incumbent works with Stakeholders, including the output areas’ Integrated Planners and Risk Managers, to produce and maintain the NWIIP. The NWIIP are tools used to identify risks, potential mitigations and opportunities. They generate resourced schedules and succinct reports which support informed decision making and adds clarity and value to the Strategic Programme. 

Person specification

The candidate should have strong organisational skills and demonstrate experience of stakeholder management and engagement at all levels. They should have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to work under pressure as part of a team and individually with minimal supervision.
