Job summary

The successful candidate will be carrying out the following activities:

  1. SRCSO will provide administrative support to the Security Strategy & Plans Authority (SSPA) in their role as Clyde Security Risk Manager.  This includes population of the Security Risk Management Tools and Databases and ensuring that all Clyde Security Risk Databases on Sharepoint are kept up to date and reflect the Nuclear Security Regulator requirements.  
  2. In support of SSPA's role as Clyde Security Culture Lead, SRCSO will provide support to the Clyde Security Culture Manager by ensuring that all Culture Campaign posters and advertising materials around site are regularly refreshed and kept in good order.  They will also liaise with external Security agencies and the Clyde Security Cyber pillar to ensure CSyO advertise the latest Cyber Security poster campaigns.
  3. Carry out all procurement and purchasing activity for the department, including preparation of Business Cases for Finance approval.
  4. Following a programme of recruitment, SRCSO will liaise with the Space Planning Department to ensure that the setup of Bld 1512 is as required, with all the required IT and furniture.
  5. Although the CSyO is split into separate pillars, SRCSO will need to have a working knowledge of what is delivered by each Department to ensure that a good level of Administrative Support is provided.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. 

Job description

SRCSO will provide administrative support to the Security Strategy & Plans Authority (SSPA) in their role as Clyde Security Risk Manager.  This includes population of the Security Risk Management Tools and Databases and ensuring that all Clyde Security Risk Databases on Sharepoint are kept up to date and reflect the Nuclear Security Regulator requirements.  

In support of SSPA's role as Clyde Security Culture Lead, SRCSO will provide support to the Clyde Security Culture Manager by ensuring that all Culture Campaign posters and advertising materials around site are regularly refreshed and kept in good order.  They will also liaise with external Security agencies and the Clyde Security Cyber pillar to ensure CSyO advertise the latest Cyber Security poster campaigns.

Provide support to any Security Project requirements, in order to mitigate Security threats and vulnerabilities to the site. This will include liaising with the Clyde Infrastructure team who hold the Forward Work Schedule of requirements.

SRCSO will undertake all electronic Purchasing Card (ePC) tasking for the department using the applicable procurement applications where necessary, ensuring all transactions are authorised and comply with current policy.  They will also undertake all Request for Contract Action (RCA) tasking for the department ensuring all transactions are authorised and comply with current policy.

General admin support to both Cyber and Physical Security teams will also be a requirement for the role.

In support of SSPA's delegation relating to JSP628, SRCSO will keep the Nuclear Security Baseline database up to date and ensure that it reflects the current position at all times, specifically ahead of agreed Nuclear Security Regulator inspection visits.

The successful candidate will communicate with Senior Staff members up to an including Director level on behalf of, and as required by SSPA. They will also act as Secretary for the Monthly HoDs Management Meeting and to other CSyO meetings as required by SSPA.

SRCSO will only require to be cleared to SC.


Person specification

The successful candidate should be able to confidently communicate with Senior staff members and also to challenge anything that they feel is warranted.  They should also be confident in getting on with the work required in SSPA's absence.
