We have an exciting opportunity for a fixed term Marketing Campaigns Manager to join a small, high performing team in an exciting fast paced communications environment for the next twelve months.

Applicants will be required to have demonstrable experience of activating audience tailored campaigns across advertising, PR, social, digital and partnerships. You’ll also have strong written and verbal communications skills and be able to organise your time well and work flexibly to deliver projects on time – often at pace.

This is an opportunity to work in a friendly and welcoming team where you’ll get end to end experience of delivering health campaigns to support the government’s commitments, including Winter Vaccinations and Adult Social Care recruitment. You will also work on the management of a portfolio of brands, including the NHS, CARE and DHSC.

Job description

Role responsibilities:

Campaign Delivery 

  • Understand how campaigns feed into wider departmental priorities 
  • Lead on delivery of elements of marketing campaigns including creative development, production, media planning, buying and implementation and evaluation including, but not be limited to: TV, Video-on-Demand, Online Video, radio, digital (including social and search), out of home, PR, influencers, and multicultural; community outreach programmes (including, for example, PR, print, social, radio and podcasts) 
  • Be curious and passionate about developing technologies including AI 
  • Commission, quality assure work and collaborate with specialist agencies
  • Support the delivery of campaigns on time and in budget – striving for value for money

Project Management 

  • Support development of project timelines with the ability to manage upwards any challenges and competing priorities 
  • Support management of stakeholders; presentations through to presenting
  • Support management of third-party suppliers including specialist agencies
  • Identify areas for improvement and simplify processes 
  • Provide recommendations for project delivery decisions based on evidence and experience and outline considerations such as timings, costs, benefits and risks 

Brand Management

  • Support the brand manager to oversee brands, including NHS, CARE and DHSC
  • Manage brand misuse reports, permission requests, trademark renewals and general enquiries
  • Monitor the brand inbox, responding to queries and actioning any misuse reports

Stakeholder and People Management 

  • Build great professional relationships with the Behaviour Programme Unit (BPU), DHSC Policy and NHS Digital, Social and clinical teams with the ability to positively influence
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver campaign excellence
  • Champion an environment of inclusion, openness, and innovation 

Administration 

         Understand and effectively manage financial processes with your team including:

    • Management of campaign budgets, ensuring value-for-money 
    • Building positive working relationships with key finance team contacts 
    • Supporting preparation of business cases 
    • Raising purchase orders 
    • Managing estimates and invoices from third party suppliers 
    • Regularly updating financial trackers and monthly and quarterly reporting 
    • Organising and managing meetings (online, in-person and hybrid)
    • Drafting responses to PQs, FOIs and general correspondence

Person specification

  • Experience of delivering communications campaigns across a range of channels, such as PR, partnerships, owned and paid for channels. Specific digital and social media channel and activation knowledge is required
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multi-task. Ability to work quickly and flex to changing priorities in a busy environment across competing tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to build strong working relationships across a diverse partner network
  • Experience of working with creative and media buying agencies
  • Experience of campaign budget management

New Entrants to the Civil Service
