Post background

This is an exciting time to join JNCC as a Management Information Specialist. We are in the process of implementing a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, and as a result a full suite of data dashboards and reports needs to be built to meet business requirements and to maximise the opportunities provided by the new system. This role will act as a reports administrator and super user for the ERP, and as such will lead on supporting and testing future phases of system development.

The post holder will provide data expertise and insights to support core HR activities such as pay modelling, analysis of leaver feedback, statutory reporting and the management of staff benefits. In addition, the post will support JNCC’s annual planning and reporting activities, working across the organisation to support staff in accessing and utilising the data they need to make informed, data driven decisions. In order to provide insightful data reporting across a number of areas, this role will sit in the organisation’s Digital and Data Solutions team but work closely with JNCC’s HR and finance teams.

Job description

Post Duties

  • Create and maintain a suite of data dashboards and reports within and, where necessary, outside of, the ERP system, to provide the business and corporate service teams appropriate and readily-obtainable access to the corporate data they require.
  • Produce ad hoc, monthly, and quarterly HR and finance statistics for both internal and external stakeholders, analysing the data to identify trends and key insights and ensuring compliance with statutory reporting requirements.
  • As an administrator and super user of the ERP system, support ongoing delivery capabilities including managing annual updates, and providing problem-solving for reported issues.
  • Using your advanced Excel skills, support annual pay modelling and benchmarking activities, making analysis-based recommendations for the most effective usage of available salary budget.
  • Use your data skills to support the automation of payroll checking and reconciliation and support the HR and finance teams with data gathering for annual and ad-hoc audits.
  • Regularly carry out data quality checking and cleansing activities to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and quality of corporate data. Identify the root cause of discrepancies and establish process safeguards or provide training to avoid future occurrences wherever possible.
  • Support JNCC’s annual planning process by leading data processing tasks and producing meaningful data outputs to inform decision making.
  • Proactively identify trends in support queries, and recommend solutions to reduce these in future, such as process clarification or additional training for staff.
  • Work with the business and HR and finance colleagues to gather system improvement requirements and identify, test, document and implement appropriate solutions.
  • As a key link staff member with corporate services, and as part of a wider data community within JNCC, fulfil any other duties required to support business objectives.
