DWP is looking to fill x2 Management Information and Funding Insight Lead roles in Contract Management and Partner Delivery (CMPD) directorate:

x1 - Contracted Health and Employment Analysis (CHEA) Division

x1 - Local Authority Partnership, Engagement and Delivery (LA-PED) Division 

 The roles available will be based in:

Job description

The post holder is responsible for providing and developing performance reports, managing stakeholder requirements, ensuring delivery against key priorities, and progressing key programmes of technical data development with external providers.

The key tasks of the roles are:

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Support colleagues and analysts to ensure they have the management information and reports they need at the right time to manage provider performance,
  • Answer ad-hoc questions including Parliamentary Questions and Freedom of Information requests in a consistent and timely manner,
  • Ensure reports are robust, consistent, insightful, and presented clearly.

Data: Ensure data from providers is ingested into the department and stored in an efficient and secure way, challenge, query, and probe to ensure that data is robust.

Deliver efficiencies: Develop the data process to move towards Power-BI and a more efficient self-service solution for customers. Identify and deliver areas for improvement in performance reporting and data management.

Building understanding: Help stakeholders to understand and get the most from the data, providing upskilling and support as and when required.

Management: Manage a small team of Higher Executive Officers, to deliver the work of the team, ensure staff are aware of and delivering their responsibilities, support staff with their development and progression.

Person specification

Candidates should demonstrate the following criteria in their personal statement, this is the information which will be used to conduct the written sift:

  • Lead Criteria – Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work with complex data, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to use data to provide insight.
  • Ability to develop clear plans for yourself and others, monitor these plans and successfully deliver against multiple and competing priorities.
  • Ability to build solid, influential, and productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and third parties. Identify requirements and keep stakeholders informed of progress.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and high-pressured environment with pace, delivering high quality work to challenging deadlines with minimal error.
  • Ability to lead a team, delivering results and support colleagues where tasks are challenging or demands high.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentational communication skills and able to present analytical insight in a clear and unambiguous way adapting approach to suit needs of the audience.
  • Ability to identify and implement areas for improvement that will add value to the business.

  • Experience of developing dashboards within Power-BI

Location

Hybrid Working

This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home.  This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.

This vacancy is using Success Profiles (opens in a new window), and will assess your Behaviours, Strengths and Experience.

At the point of submitting your application you will be guided to an on-line tool which will asses your numeracy skills. You will need to pass the the Civil Service on-line test to progress through to written sift and interview.

Sift:
