Job summary

As an enthusiastic and thoughtful problem solver you’ll have the skills to help ensure compliance with accounting standards and government regulations, and be ready to work on a large number of complex and varied projects. You’ll also be involved with efficiency challenges, detailed project deep dive analysis, and the quarterly financial forecasting cycle.

Developing and delivering the full suite of monthly MI reports to support business decision making, and reviewing our compliance controls to ensure they’re fully exercised on a monthly basis, you’ll see that labour costs are accurately reported and recovered across our functions, reviewing and revising charging processes as needs change. But your work won’t stop here – you’ll also support the development of Opex and Capex proposals, lead on financial tracking to ensure benefits are realised, and coordinate the development of our corporate business plans.

As a Management Accountant with experience of operating in a project accounting environment, you’ll possess customer and supplier relationship management skills, and the ability to analyse, interrogate and evaluate data. We’ll expect you to be familiar with accounting systems, financial planning, forecasting and reporting, and have a practical knowledge of specialist systems and databases such as ERP, Oracle. 

Capable of delivering at pace in a collaborative, fast-moving environment, and with superb communication and influencing skills, you should be familiar with the principles and governance of managing public money. You’ll also possess experience of working in public sector finance, and have a well developed understanding of Oracle Fusion/Cloud.

Person specification

• Customer/Supplier relationship management;
• Analyse, interrogate and evaluate data;
• Technical knowledge of accounting principles;
• Accounting systems;
• Financial planning and forecasting;
• Financial Reporting;

• Specialist systems/ Databases (e.g. ERP, Oracle)

Essential 
• Newly qualified (Chartered) accountant or equivalent demonstrable experience;
• Experience of operating in a project accounting environment
