Job summary

We are currently looking to recruit an M&E Manager. You will be responsible for the delivery of Mechanical and Electrical Services, monitoring quality and delivery of Statutory & PPM maintenance and facilities hard services for Kew.  You will support the Chief M&E engineer with the emergency, day to day and planned maintenance operations, providing technical support to both the In-house team and external contractors.

The role will also support the Key functions of the Estates department including Capital Projects, Sustainability, Compliance & Facilities and the Estates Helpdesk.

Job description

This is a key leadership role within the Estates department that will directly manage a team of engineers providing leadership, support and supervision.  Interfacing with a number of teams and departments across the organisation and will be focused on building Estates excellence, delivering a wide range of services and projects and supporting the aims and objectives of the Estates department as a whole.

 

Person specification

Essential criteria (person specification)

  • Demonstration of relevant electrical engineering, construction and / or engineering training/ building services training and education to degree level, or ability to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • Significant experience of managing large electrical & mechanical engineering contracts at a senior level.
  • Proven knowledge of statutory compliance within building services
  • IOSH or NEBOSH or equivalent H&S training
  • Strong working knowledge of BMS, Fire, CCTV and Access controls cause and effect strategies.
  • Familiar with pre planned maintenance good practice and standard industry activities
  • Ability to use Microsoft packages and outsourced service portals
  • Proven competency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook
