Job summary

The Learning & Development Adviser is a key member of the UK Security Vetting  L&D Team providing advice and guidance on a range of appropriate L&D activities to meet business objectives. Working in close collaboration with various stakeholders to identify, design, deliver and evaluate various learning solutions. 

Job description

Duties will include but not limited to: 

  • Delivery of training courses across all main UKSV locations. This includes seminars, workshops, lunch and learns, and individual training sessions both virtually and in person.
  •  Supporting all pillars with internal and external bespoke training needs where required and providing advice on suitable solutions.
  •  Working with managers and subject matter experts to support a continuous learning culture and content that maximises the potential of employees. 
  • Recognising different styles of training techniques relevant to the audience and incorporating these to best fit specific teams and pillars, to ensure full engagement.
  • Researching and sourcing new innovative learning methods. 
  • Assisting with the provision of a range of L&D interventions to support management development – both procurement and in house provision. 
  • Working collaboratively on the introduction to a new approach to regular training needs analysis activity. 
  • Creation of engaging learning activities and compelling course content (role plays, handouts, games, trainer manuals, student guides). 
  • Assist in the monitoring, evaluations and reporting of learning ROE (Return on Expectation). 
  • There may be a requirement for extensive travel and overnight stays for extended periods throughout the UK. 
  • May involve future line management.

Person specification

As  Learning & Development Adviser within UK Security Vetting, we are looking for people who have the following expertise and attributes:

  • Experience working within Learning & Development, identifying and analysing training requirements, creation and delivery of various training packages is essential.
  • Organised and able to manage multiple tasks and projects. 
  • Good analytical skills and the ability to present data verbally and in written form.
  •  Excellent delivery skills with the ability to engage all learners.
  •  Good professional acumen, influencing, communication, and stakeholder management skills. 
  • A positive team player who works collaboratively across all stakeholder groups. 
  • A proven self-starter, with evidence of taking the initiative and meeting objectives.

Essential:

  • Professional  training or teaching qualification.

Desirable:

  • CIPD qualified or willingness to work towards.

At the sift stage you will be assessed on the Behaviours and Experience elements of the Success Profiles.

To assess experience you will be asked to provide a 500-word personal statement and a name-blind (anonymous) CV.
