Now, you’ve got the opportunity to join them.

Job description

At FCDO Services, we protect the UK’s interests at home and overseas. We design and construct secure government buildings, courier diplomatic packages worldwide, safeguard government tech, and a whole lot more. Our work is as varied and vital as it gets, but we never lose sight of our people. Their skills, aspirations and growth mean as much as the global mission we're on. In our world, it all matters.

Investigate threats and unexpected activities relating to our IT systems

When you join us in this important role, you’ll be a vital member of a close-knit team and work collaboratively as you manipulate and interpret data across the entire technological space. Always focused on the bigger picture and ready to learn from your colleagues, you’ll find that with us no two days are the same. Key to your success will be your ability to identify and investigate a wide range of threats, incidents, anomalies or unexpected activities within our IT systems, and oversee the implementation of successful resolutions.

Support our customers and mentor other members of your team.

You will have a wide range of additional responsibilities, including representing the Security Operations Centre at meetings, providing advice to other areas of our organisation on new services, and assessing the impact of any proposed work. We’ll expect you to keep up-to-speed on the latest IT-based threats and vulnerabilities – this will allow you to identify and report real time attacks on our networks. You’ll also support our customers in their response to security incidents, and mentor, train and manage the work of your Practitioner Analyst colleagues.

Use all your knowledge and expertise as you defend the UK’s national security interests.

Tenacious, imaginative, ingenious and passionate about your work, you’ll have the analytical skills and attention to detail that allows you to identify complex patterns quickly. We’ll expect you to have formal cyber security qualifications such as SANS, CISSP or COMPTIA, and in addition to membership of a relevant professional organisation, a networking qualification such as CCNA, CCNP would be desirable. And with a strong, positive attitude to everything you do, your superb communication, influencing and interpersonal skills will make you a ‘go-to’ member of the team.

Grow your career with full support

When you join us, you’ll be contributing to protecting the nation’s interests at home and overseas – but how will we help you in return? As well as a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement and a Civil Service pension, we’ll also support your development with training opportunities to help you advance your career with us. Our offices have an on-site gym, nursery, canteen, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. It’s a superb package of benefits as you help to increase the effectiveness and security of our cyber systems.

If you’re successful with your application, you’ll need to achieve Developed Vetting security clearance. This process can take some time, but the result – an exciting and fulfilling career with FCDO Services – means that it’s well worth the wait. If you want to find out more about vetting and what we can offer you, please visit fcdoservicescareers.co.uk

It takes a diverse team to protect a diverse world.

The vital work we do takes an incredible community of colleagues with different skills, backgrounds, cultures and identities. We support every individual, so that you always know you’re welcome and valued. It’s what makes us a Disability Confident employer. And why we’re recognised as a ‘Carer Confident’ workplace. And it’s how you know you’re joining an inspiring, inclusive organisation.
