Job Purpose

ORR is the health and safety regulator for all of Britain’s rail industry. One of ORR’s  strategic objectives is to enforce the law and ensure that the industry delivers continuous improvement in the health and safety of passengers, the workforce and public, by achieving excellence in health and safety culture, management, and risk control.

This exciting and challenging managerial role sits within our Railway Safety Directorate (RSD), which leads ORR’s health and safety regulatory activities. Reporting to RSD’s Head of Capability, the post holder will lead a number of small teams working to ensure that the health and safety regulatory framework for GB’s railways, and ORR’s policy and guidance contribute to excellence in the management of health and safety and risk control.
