Job description

The successful intern will assist the Senior Policy Adviser for Train Driving Licences, to analyse data on the train driving licence portal to create management reports to aid in the review of the current application policy. ORR has a statutory obligation to maintain an accurate register of train driving licences and it is an important function for the team. There will also be an opportunity to gain oversight of a review of the current legislation and gain an understanding of how legislation can be changed.

Given the broad spectrum covered by the Policy team, there will also be opportunities for the intern to gain some real experience with updating internal policies and procedures when supporting the Senior Policy Adviser in covering some of the key responsibilities when the usual team members are unavailable.

There may also be some general administrative tasks including arranging meetings, including room bookings, where requested and taking minutes at any such meetings.
