The International Funds Manager will play a key role in the delivery and implementation of UKRI’s International Funds for example: taking responsibility for delivery of new funding opportunities, working with the other UKRI teams to engage key stakeholders, or developing international funding policy. The post holder will support the delivery of new international Funds, such as the International Science Partnerships Fund (ISPF).

The primary purpose of the International Manager role is to:

  • Support UKRI’s International teams’ strategic approaches to develop a portfolio of international research and innovation partnerships or funding programmes.
  • Gather, understand and integrate information into evidence-based materials (working with the International Analysis and Evaluation team) to support UKRI’s strategic approaches to international activity.
  • Coordinate and support internal UKRI networks to help integrate international across UKRI and support dialogue with the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT)
  • Support and create connections and linkages between the UKRI International teams, overseas offices and constituent councils.

Job description

  • Support the development of the new International Science Partnerships Fund, including cross UKRI networking, coordination and communications.
  • Support, and in some cases lead, the development and commissioning of international research and capacity building programmes.
  • Working with UKRI’s Councils to deliver a consistent approach to management and engagement within programme calls and project teams while maximizing their impact.
  • Carry out funding-related policy work including implementing new policy in areas such as equality, diversity and inclusion, ODA compliance and reporting, and safeguarding

Person specification

Essential

  • Educated to at least first degree or equivalent qualification, or appropriate experience relevant to the role.
  • Ability to investigate and analyse problems systematically and then develop reasoned proposals for action.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, including the ability to tailor information to a wide range of audiences and using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
