About the job

Job summary

This role sits within the VisitBritain/VisitEngland Research and Insights team, reporting to the Insights Manager. The role is specifically within VisitEngland although the work will cover both inbound and domestic tourism.

This role has been created due to a new workstream that has arisen as a result of greater engagement with local tourism industry stakeholders in England. In response to the de Bois Review into destination management in England, VisitEngland has implemented a programme to accredit and support the development of Local Visitor Economy Partnerships (LVEPs) across England, a top tier of Destination Management Organisations (county / city level tourist boards). Funding for this programme exists until March 2025 so we have created a fixed term contract role for this duration.

One of the workstreams focusses on data and insights and addresses the needs of the LVEPs to have data that reflects their geographies, delivered in a timely manner and in a user-friendly way, and that can help them make decisions. This will involve proactive creation of LVEP-level data and analysis, as well as responding to requests. As a number of the team will be involved in this workstream, the Insights Executive will help across the team so that we can collectively deliver for the LVEPs.

Alongside the LVEP programme, VisitEngland will also be developing a visitor economy strategy for England. This will create the need for compiling relevant data and insights in order to build an evidence base.
