About the Group

The Corporate Centre Group delivers a wide range of corporate services to enable people at HM Treasury and many of the other organisations who form part of the Treasury Group (including the Government Internal Audit Agency and the Debt Management Office) to operate effectively and efficiently. We are a diverse group, both in terms of our professions and in our ways of working. Our colleagues are based across 3 sites in London, Darlington and Norwich.

About the Team

The Correspondence and Information Rights Team (CIRT) consists of:

  • The Information Rights Unit (IRU) who deal with requests for recorded information.
  • The Correspondence and Enquiries Unit (CEU), who handle correspondence from the public and Members of Parliament (MPs).
  • The CIRT Technology Team who lead on our change and improvement plans, run our case management system and provide day to day MI reporting in relation to FOI’s and correspondence received within the Treasury.
  • The Data Protection team who advise on data protection across HMT

This role sits in the CIRT Technology Team.

We’re a friendly team based across London, Norwich and Darlington, and we encourage people from different ages, experiences, and backgrounds.

About the Job 

The CIRT Technology team is a new team sitting at the heart of the Correspondence and Information Rights team. The CIRT Technology team is responsible for supporting on the technological transformation of CIRT and providing local MI and reporting to identify bottlenecks and manage performance. The Technology team manages the case management system that allows the flow of Correspondence for the CEU team, FOI requests for the Freedom of Information Team and Parliamentary Questions for the PQ team. Furthermore, the Technology team manages the Robotic Processing Automation contract (RPA) that automatically logs cases onto the case management system.

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, with a willingness to learn, innovate and implement change. You will need to be comfortable working with senior colleagues and subject matter experts. This role will require you to build excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You’ll need to work at pace to deliver the variety of responsibilities associated with this role. The new post holder will be comfortable working in a dynamic way within a small collaborative team, excited by change and exploring the art of the possible.

The role is split into three main categories, 40% of your time will be spent doing core tasks like retraining and managing the robotic processing automation, creating, and updating power-bi reports and managing the support mailbox for our case management system. 30% of your time will be spent managing the existing technology we have, ensuring it is working, testing new developments, and keeping the systems running. The further 30% of your time will be invested looking into where we can deploy further technologies and utilise the Microsoft suite of products (lists/ power bi/ power automate etc). Although a technical knowledge is not required, it is preferred you have an interest in exploring new technologies and an openness to become an expert on the Microsoft suite of products.

Key accountabilities for this role will include:  

  1. Retraining and managing Robotic Processing Automation service.
  2. Provide management information (MI) through power bi and pre-existing localised reporting to CIRT and the wider department.
  3. Drive improvement work to the case management system, ensuring it is utilised in the most effective way, spotting opportunities for improvement and helping to drive change forwards, including supporting colleagues on using eCase.
  4. Responding to complex queries and ad-hoc tasks on behalf of the Technology team.
  5. Utilising the Microsoft Suite of products to release efficiencies and increase use of technology across CIRT.
  6. Being in the office 60% of the time.
