Job summary

Working in a small team with the Senior Information Security Officer, the Information Security Officer will play an essential part to ensure Information Security Management System and its controls are implemented and remain effective within Homes England. This is paramount to help deliver the Vision, Strategy and, Transformation within a secure environment.

Job description

We are committed to maintain our current iso 27001:2013 certification for Information Security Management Systems you will assist to consult with key stakeholders across the agency on how these can be met. 


Whilst our day job is to deliver first class customer service to our stakeholders and provide assurance of effective controls to iso 27001:2013  information security standard you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.

 

This role will assist the Senior Information Security Officer in achieving and maintaining the ISO 27001 certification and the transition to the new standard iso 27001:2022 by Oct 2025 as well as develop and implement strategies to ensure ongoing compliance with ISO standards.

 

You will need to have awareness of Information Security Risk analysis and management and able to perform internal iso 27001:2013 compliance and security audits and produce reports.

 

You will support the Senior Information Security Officer with complex technical issues, aiming to assist to resolve non-conformities and identify any weaknesses in iso 27001:2013 controls. 

 

As an experienced Information Security professional, you will understand how to manage your own workload and demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.

 

You will need to be resilient and comfortable managing and communicating with stakeholders across the business.

Essential Skills

• Co-ordinate and participate in internal and external audits to evaluate the effectiveness of information security controls for iso27001:2013

• Have knowledge of Information Security controls and iso 27001:2013 certification external audits

• Review and identify gaps or improvement actions to update information security policies and procedures in line with ISO standards

• Maintain comprehensive documented information in relation to information security policies, procedure, and compliance audits

• Ensure accurate and up to date records for audits and assessments are maintained

• Address audit findings and collaborate with teams to implement corrective actions

• Experience of Information Security Risk analysis and management

• Information Security assurance experience including security incident, operational and service improvement within iso 27001 and or ITIL frameworks

• Working knowledge of Information Security controls within Data Centre environments and Cloud Service Providers of SaaS/PaaS/IaaS.

• Previous experience working with ISO standards such as iso 27001:2013

• Experience managing overall compliance with ISO standards

• Experience advising senior leadership teams on security compliance

• Ability to communicate on a technical and non-technical level

 

Desirable skills

• Experience of creating information security policies and aligning to Gov standards. 

• Awareness of Government Security Principles and codes of practice to support the Information Security of Homes England as an Arm’s Length Government Body.
